so...here we goooo.
HI.

BASICALLY I'M BLUR AS *BLEEP*.
<i censored the word because i don't know if in this blogging thing i could curse or not? but hey *hint hint* the word starts with the letter "F" ;)>
so being the new kid in the business GUESS WHAT??
I CAME IN LATE :D
which is one of the worst first impressions ever. I mean i'm not the best at first impressions but when it comes to your JOB on your FIRST BLEEPIN DAY??
yeah, it counts for a lot.
I was pretty embarrassed because not only am i an awkward "thing" when i meet new people because i'm shy, I was sort of "told off" in a nice way by the head manager.
WHAT A GREAT START.
After the briefing and introductions and all that stuff was done, I had to y'know go around the store still not fully aware of how to go about doing things and serving customers, finding merchandise, etc etc bla bla poop...
But what i would like to highlight about this whole experience is that it seriously isn't nice being "the new kid" and
It basically feels like you're just walking around with a big neon sign on your head that says "NOOB"
in caps and bold and shit.
. And honestly it just feels down right crappy. Imma be real
here, everyone who's already working practically knew each other already and
they already have their "pals" that they talk to and laugh about shit
with while youre just kinda awkwardly walking around waiting for more tasks to
be given to you.
SO i wanted to maybe try to give some tips on how to not feel like and awkward *bleep* if its your first day of work!
one thing i realized today is being shy not only makes you awkward but suddenly it makes you feel as if you don't know how to think and suddenly you seem like the really dumb new kid on the block that cant remember shit.
For example, I wanted to work after school on certain days and my school practically ends at 5 yet I
stated that i could start work from 5 pm on wards because apparently I could reach my location in a nanosecond...AND OF COURSE I GOT EMBARRASSED because the head manager once again pointed out how dumb my decision was and all the of the staff were in the room at that moment, just snickering at my poorly thought through decisions.
How does one avoid this noob like act?
REMEMBER TO REMIND YOURSELF TO BREATHE.
Know that you need to think things through and that everyone around you are humans.
Yes they may be judgmental and you feel like they think you're a noob and a dumbo but hey
you still have time to change that, they barely even know you yet!
clear your mind and try to calm down as much as possible whether its by doing deep breathing
or imagining everyone around you naked.Either way's cool :)
I also realized another thing that's good to do on your
first day of work is just keep asking questions.
Because it’s better to ask then to be seen later as an even
bigger dumbo because you didn’t know how to ask questions and now you don't
know jack shit about what you're doing so hey!
ASK ASK ASK *thumbs up*
A wise man once said,
"God gave you one mouth and two ears because you have to listen more then speak"
or it sort of went something like that, im sure it sounded
more poetic and stuff but ANYWAYS
my point is to LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN.
Look at the person talking to you right in the eye.Let them know "HEY IM LISTENING SO YOU JUST KEEP TELLING ME STUFF I NEED TO KNOW"
so key notes "shut up more, listen better"
Its important so that once again you don't screw up and end up having everyone get pissed of at you because of how dumb you are.
AND thats practically all the advice i can give now, ill just have to keep learning and doing and trying my best because.
Thats..just life ladies and gentlemen :)
THANKS FOR READING.
I dont really have pictures from today because i didn't have the time to take any :/ but ill just post some random pictures taken from my past and you can just...see my face??
